Weekly Series racing resumes Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway with $uper $aver $pecial


WHEATLAND, Mo.—Following Jared Landers' exciting victory over Jimmy Owens in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series CMH Diamond Nationals, the Budweiser Weekly Championship Series resumes this Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway with a special offer for fans.

The National Wild Turkey Federation and Lucas Oil Racing TV team up to present this week's program, which is the final $uper $aver $pecial Night of the 2016 season. Fans arriving before 6:30 p.m. can received four general admission tickets, four hot dogs and four 20-ounce Coca-Cola products for $30.

"It's a great opportunity for families to spend a night at the races and get a great deal on tickets, food and drink all rolled into one extra-affordable price," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said. "Our weekly championship chases are ready to resume with some tight battles throughout the standings to keep an eye on."

The ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models will be featured, running a special $25-lap, $1,000-to-win feature in memory of Ron Jenkins, original builder of Wheatland Raceway. The Ozark Golf Cars B-Mods, Carson's Corner NAPA Street Stocks and Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds also will be in action.

Blood drive: Also on the schedule is a chance for fans to help a good cause as the American Red Cross will be on hand at Lucas Oil Speedway with the Bloodmobile 4-7:30 p.m. on Saturday. To schedule an appointment in advance, go to www.redcrossblood.org.

Take a break from the heat: As usual, fans can beat the heat before or during the races on the lower level of the tower complex in the comfort of the Diamond Bar, in the Track Treasures Gift Shop or in the Diamond Cafe which features a full menu of food selections. The north end of the complex finds the restaurant seating area with tables, in air-conditioned comfort.

A quick look at the USRA divisions heading into the week:

Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds: Following a runner-up finish last week, Bolivar's Jeff Cutshaw has a 142-point lead over Jason Pursley of Hermitage. Cutshaw has reeled off five straight top-three finishes and remains on pace to successfully defend his 2015 track championship.

Ozark Golf Cars B-Mods: Coming off his first finish outside the top four all season the last time the B Mods competed, Springfield's J.C. Morton will be looking to build on his 90-point lead over Richland's Tyler Brown. Lebanon's Kris Jackson is 92 points behind Morton.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 and racing at 7:30. This week's admission prices are:
