LAS CRUCES, N.M.—The 17th Annual S&S Fishing & Rental/Barnett Harley-Davidson USRA Fall Nationals presented by G3 Fitness & NAPA Auto Parts is set to happen Friday-Sunday, Oct. 21-23, at the Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M.

Sunday’s finale will once again award at no less than $10,000 to the winner and each of the 24 main event starters will earn at least $1,500.

Hometown favorite Stormy Scott is the two-time defending champion of the event. Other past winners include Terry Phillips (2012-13), Jason Cummins (2011), Rodney Sanders (2010), Johnny Scott (2009), Eddie Martin (2005-07), Ron Jones (2000-01, 2004), Monte Bolton (2003) and Royal Jones (2002).

Heat race passing points will be used to determine main event line-ups. The top five in Friday’s feature race advance to inside row of Sunday’s “A” Main, while the top five in Saturday’s nightcap will fill the outside five rows of Sunday’s “A” Main. Fourteen drivers will advance from the “B” Main to complete the 24-car field.

Drivers not advancing out of the “B” Main to the "A" Main get $800 and competitors that fail to transfer from the “C” Main to the "B" Main will earn $500.

Lap sponsorships are $50 per lap while spots remain available. Each lap leader will earn $25, second place gets $15 and the third-place driver each time around will make an extra $10. The halfway mark at lap 25 will pay $100 for the leader, $75 for second and $50 for the driver running third.

Now through October 1, the entry fee for USRA Modified competitors is just $250. After that, the entry fee is $300 per driver. Entry forms are available on the Southern New Mexico Speedway website at www.snmspeedway.com.

The USRA Stock Car feature winner will earn $500 on Friday and Saturday with $1,000 earmarked for Sunday's winner. Drivers, note that USRA Stock Cars with a 361-cubic-inch engine or larger must utilize a 6,200 RPM rev-limiting chip.

An open practice for all classes is slated for Thursday, October 20, from 6-10 p.m.
