Western Tech Speedway Park kicks off “Last Lap at The Pass” this Friday


EL PASO, Texas—Fresh off a successful Casa Nissan Spring Fling, officials at the Western Tech Speedway Park are readying for the famed race track’s final season-opening event this Friday, April 29.

The 2016 Weekly Racing Series Season Opener will feature USRA Modifieds and Holley USRA Stock Cars, plus Super Trucks, Southwest Late Models and Casa Nissan Legends Cars.

The former El Paso Speedway Park is embarking on the final season for the 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval located east of El Paso on Highway 62. The track will permanently close following at the end of the current racing season.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7:45. General admission is just $10 and kids ages 10 and under are admitted free of charge. A Family Pack for two adults and up to four kids under 16 is just $25. Pit passes are $30.

The Western Tech Speedway Park is a 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval located 6.0 miles east of FM 375 on US 62, then 0.5 mile north on Krag St., then east on Tangerine Ave.
