Show-Me Spectacular this Saturday at I-35 Speedway

WINSTON, Mo.—I-35 Speedway is hosting the 6th Annual McCarthy Auto Group Show-Me Spectacular this Saturday, October 10. This event first began in 2011 as a two-day show for Stock Cars, B Mods and Hobby Stocks. The 2015 version will be a one-day all-open-wheel show as the USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods, E Mods, Midwest Outlaw Lightning Sprints and Non-Wing Sprints compete for additional purse money. The first ever Power Wheels Race for the kids will take place during Intermission adding to the night’s entertainment.

If this past weekend’s racing was an indication, where Bud Wilson won by a bumper over Randy Ainsworth in the USRA B-Mod class, this Show-Me Spectacular will be one of the best. The USRA Modifieds will be competing for a $2,000 first-place payday and $150 to start the feature race. The USRA B-Mods will contend for $1,000 to win and $75 to start. This will be a points race for the USRA classes.

So far in 2015 there have been 89 different USRA Modified competitors and 107 USRA B-Mod racers race at I-35 Speedway. Fifty drivers have pre-registered for competition. The Show-Me Spectacular may bring even more new drivers to the track.

Who will be the Show-Me champions? If you were betting, would you place your money in the USRA Modifieds on track points champion Dennis Elliott? Maybe 2014 champion Zach Sanders or USRA national points leader Terry Schultz? Someone else? In the USRA B-Mods, where to place your bet: last week's winner Bud Wilson? Randy Ainsworth? Track champ Tim Eaton? Maybe Doug Keller? Or someone else?

Pit gates open at 2 p.m., grandstand gates open at 3, drivers meeting is at 5:30, hot laps begin at 6 and racing will start at 7 p.m. I-35 Speedway is located just a short drive north of Liberty, Mo., at exit 64. General admission is $20, seniors 62 and over are $16, children 7-12 are $6 and children 6 and under are free.
