Widespread area rain forces cancellation at Lucas Oil Speedway

WHEATLAND, Mo.--With rain pouring down throughout the region and additional rain expected throughout the afternoon and evening hours in the Wheatland area, Lucas Oil Speedway officials have been left with little choice but to cancel racing action scheduled for Saturday, April 18.

"We sure hate to lose our Budweiser Weekly Racing Series opener but with the tremendous amount of rain spreading throughout the region and the long distances that many of our racers and fans travel from, we were left with little choice but to pull the plug." commented Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson.

Racing is scheduled to resume next Saturday, April 25th as KLOZ-Mix 92.7 presents round #2 of the Budweiser Weekly Racing Series plus it's the first $uper $aver $pecial Night of 2015 as (4) admissions, (4) hot dogs, and (4) Coke drinks are just $30 for all fans arriving before 6:30 p.m. The ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models, Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks the Tri-Lakes RV USRA B-Mods will all be in action. The Tri-Lakes RV USRA B-Mods will be the featured class of the evening running a special 25-lap, $500-to-win main event.

Lucas Oil Speedway is located at Highways 83 and 54 in Wheatland, MO. A campground with shower and bathroom facilities is also available. With it's entrance located just outside the pit gate this sprawling scenic camping facility will continue to enhance the racing experience at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks.
