USRA Rules Announced for the 2015 Race Season
WEBSTER CITY, Iowa -- Rules for the 2015 USRA Weekly Racing Sereis are complete, officials from the United States Racing Association announced today.
Once again we at USRA understand that with change comes cost and we want to keep as few changes as possible. There was some grey areas that still need covered and drivers, crewmembers really need to read the rules to make sure you are within the rulebook. Drivers are always looking for that little extra edge and sometimes it may not be written in the rules so be sure to check out the 2015 rules.
In the USRA Modified division we have seen the suspension area updated as USRA has went to pull bar or lift arm only. No cantilever bars will be allowed in 2015, another change will be the spoilers have been reduced to five inches for the USMTS Spec headed cars and three inches for the open competitor cars. Frames will be a concern and drivers and owners need to be checking with USRA tech officials about what will be allowed in this area. We have heard lots of grumblings about this already and cheated up frames will not be tolerated. USRA has also added in the concept engine that will get a 50# weight break. Another area that seen a minor change was the weight rule 50# of weight was added to each option.
In the USRA B-mod class once again no major changes just some areas that needed cleaned up in the rules section. Lower tubulars will be allowed through the 2015 race season with the same rules as used in 2014, but will be discontinued in this class in 2016. Same as bulb shocks in the B-mod class.
In the Hobby Stock class once again very few changes took place here with just some clarification on some rules.
In the USRA Stock Car division the new Holley Ultra HP carburetor will be allowed to compete so be sure to check out the rules with this carburetor.
Rules are on the USRA website and available for download as is the 2015 USRA license application and will be available at the trade show in Mesquite, TX this weekend.’
