A late afternoon downpour just prior to hot laps flooded the Cresco Speedway and washed out any chance of racing Sunday night.

CRESCO, Iowa—Sunday’s 12th Annual ‘Cresco Bowl’ event at the Cresco Speedway for the Iron Man Challenge USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods has been rained out.

Four events remain on the 2014 calendar for the Iron Man Challenge. The USRA Stock Cars will share the spotlight with the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn.

The following week, the USRA B-Mods will join the USMTS and USRA Modifieds for all three nights of the 16th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree at ‘The Creek.’

Both classes will be in action as the Iron Man Challenge heads to the Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah, Iowa, on Saturday, Sept. 27, and the series will crown its champions during the inaugural USRA National Championships, Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 1-4, at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.
