Dallas County Speedway to sanction USRA B-Mods

URBANA, Mo.—Beginning with the 2014 season, the Dallas County Speedway in Urbana, Mo., will fly the colors of the United States Racing Association (USRA).

The track will sanction the USRA B-Mods and run under the complete rulebook set forth by USRA.

The quarter-mile dirt oval was opened in July of 1997 and has run continuously since that time. Many drivers in Southwest Missouri have competed at Bill and Patty Allen’s track since its inception.

Drivers such as Eric Turner and Brandon McCormick first learned how to race here before jumping into more advanced divisions.

The USRA B-Mods will continue to be the featured division and now enjoy the many benefits of USRA sanctioning. Drivers will be eligible for both track and national points funds through USRA. They will also have additional insurance and run under a unified set of rules.

“We wanted to try and take racing back the way it used to be a little,” commented track owner Bill Allen. “We want to do our part to get all of the B-Mods in our area on the same set of rules, and with USRA’s changes to the B-Mods this year it was the time to sanction.”

Dallas County Speedway has signed a two-year agreement and has the anticipation of remaining with USRA for the foreseeable future.

The B-Mod division was brought to Southwest Missouri by Allen back in 2005.

“We started the year with two cars and finished with eight,” said Allen. “That first year was tough, but I knew if we hung with it the class would grow. I really like what USRA has to offer, and hope our drivers will realize we are doing this for the betterment of everyone.”

The season will start in mid-April with a full schedule to be released in the coming weeks. Fans are encouraged to keep up with the Dallas County Speedway on its Facebook page and also track website at www.dallascountyspeedway.net. There are a limited number of marketing opportunities left for the 2014 season, and potential marketing partners are asked to call 417-993-0100.
