USRA unveils rulebook for 2014

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa—Rules for the 2014 USRA Weekly Racing Series are complete, officials from the United States Racing Association announced today.

For drivers readying for the upcoming racing season, it's time to get the wrenches out and get those machines ready for next year.

There are no major changes in the rules for any of the four classes. The most significant rule change will be in the USRA B-Mods. For next year, a solid pull bar will be required (no spring bar) and spoilers will not be allowed.

Except for some minor language and grammar changes of a clarification on tube thickness, there will be no rule changes whatsoever in the USRA Modified division, including no change in the engine, weight or spoiler rules.

A four-barrel carburetor will be permitted for USRA Stock Cars running a 360 cubic-inch engine with 10.5:1 compression, and USRA Hobby Stock drivers may utilize a bead lock on the right rear wheel.

Rules for all classes were published Friday, Nov. 8, on the USRA website at www.usraracing.com, and will be available at the USRA booth next weekend during the Heartland Auto Racing Show in Des Moines, Iowa.

The 2014 USRA license application is also available for download on the USRA website and will be available at this weekend’s trade show.
